PRObE: Large new NSF-funded testbed, run using Emulab software
Tuesday, October 12, 2010, 8:22PM; posted by ricci (1182).

We've been working with Los Alamos National Lab, CMU, the New Mexico Consortium (NMC), and the NSF on a new testbed, PRObE.

PRObE will be the largest Emulab-based testbed to date; it plans to host two 1024-node clusters, plus a few smaller clusters. It is being built from decommissioned supercomputers, and will focus on supporting experiments that need hundreds to thousands of nodes.

Small PRObE clusters should be up and running within a few months, with the first 1024-node cluster up within a year.
